I’ve finally gone and joined Second Life. I’ll probably spend time over the next few days trying to work out how to use it, with all the accompanying pain of having to work to learn new things. My character is called Chel Maladay, and currently has no assets beyond the clothes I’m, standing up in.

Is this like Habbo Hotel for grown ups?
As far as I can see, sort of. (not having seen Habbo Hotel before). My initial impressions are that Second life is a much richer environment, with a lot more scope for the user to build and design. There’s a thriving economy of things to buy and sell, as made by the inhabitants. I’ll be learning my way round and will report back .
