Harriet is thought to be 175 years old today, or at least that is what is being celebrated.

Lots of hugs and tears all round as the umpire school closed its doors after 50 years. With the MLB changing how it recruits umpires, the school can no longer feed into the system. End of an era.

Well, I have successfully completed my "professional umpire training" in the "rules, plate and base mechanics of the Two Umpire System". This is recognised globally as one of the best.
